random update !

Bit of low tide @ work place.
So finished 3 books in last month.
1. Angels and demons - Picked up partly because of hype sorrounding it and recommendation by Shruti ! Did not like it much- no where near class of Da vinci code.
2. Selfish Gene - Great read, theory which complements evolution by Darwin.
3. Liar's poker - Autobiography of Investment banker @ salomon brothers during start of mortagage boom in america.
Amazing book, made me understand intricacies of things like Mortagage / treasury bond trading, mortagage boom and bust ! How greed takes front seat. All these serious topics, have been conveyed in very witty and funny manner.

And how can I forget great party @ amar's place.. vodka shots !!

being atheist... !!

I think being atheist helps in many ways. You do not believe there is some thing beyond death. So it's like this is the only one life you have. You would try to live life to the fullest and happily. It gives a kind of clarity in thought about what you want to do and the way you want to live your life. You are not busy paying any dues for some kind of ticket to heaven after death. You are free from many burdens that come with it.

You know this life is survival of the fittest, based on evolution over the years. When we are down, there is no refuge we can go to. There is no point in being a crying baby. We are responsible either directly or indirectly for our state of being. And we have to get up and continue the game. Need to earn what ever we want and no pretense for not doing things.

But definitely this is not everyone's cup of tea! Lot of people lack desire/qualities for being like this. Btw Most of famous scientists (Einstien, Edison) US presidents (Lincoln, Franklin) great philosophers (Aristotle, Voltaire) we know today, were atheists !!
